A gel blaster is a motor, a gearbox and a battery in a plastic or metal shell. Look after those three and it keeps working for years. Ignore them and it jams, loses power, or stops feeding. This is the short version of what matters.
Prepare the gel balls properly
Soak gel balls in clean water for 3 to 4 hours before you play. They swell to full size and go soft, which is what lets them break on impact instead of jamming in the barrel. Two mistakes to avoid: firing balls that are still hard because they have not soaked long enough, and leaving a batch soaking for days until they turn mushy and fall apart in the magazine. Soak what you plan to use, keep the rest of the pack dry.
Look after the battery
Take the battery out when you are putting the blaster away for more than a few days. Charge it with the charger it came with, not a phone charger, and do not leave it charging overnight. A battery that gets hot, swells or will not hold a charge is finished, and forcing it is how motors get damaged.
Keep it dry and keep it clean
Empty the magazine after a session. Leftover gel balls dry out inside it and turn into hard fragments that block the feed. Wipe the outside with a dry cloth, let any water drain out of the barrel, and store the blaster somewhere dry. Water and the gearbox do not mix.
Wear eye protection
Gel balls are soft water beads and are not toxic, but they travel fast enough to hurt an eye. Safety glasses cost EGP 69, which is the cheapest insurance in the store. Everyone playing wears them, not just the person shooting.
When something goes wrong
If a blaster stops firing, check three things in order: is the battery charged, are the gel balls soaked to full size, and is the magazine empty of dried fragments. That covers most of what gets reported.
